New councilwoman Tanya Siskind sworn in at Wellington meeting

Newly-appointed councilwoman Tanya Siskind was sworn in at the meeting Tuesday night and is officially the fifth member of the board.

Siskind rose to the top of 30 applicants that wanted the seat left vacant by Mayor Anne Gerwig when she left that position to run for her new one. After interviews with 10 finalists earlier this month, Siskind became the choice.

She had family and friends at her first meeting and is ready to get going.

“I think very good things will be accomplished for Wellington and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Siskind said.
