Wellington is bringing back Village Attorney Laurie Cohen for at least one more year.
Cohen agreed to sign a one-year contract extension for the same base salary at the village council meeting Tuesday night. The goal of the short deal is for the new council to work with her more.
The council has three newcomers — Michael Drahos and Michael Napoleone, who took their seats last month and Tanya Siskind, who was sworn in Tuesday.
Cohen’s base salary when she signed her last deal in 2013 was $150,000. She is eligible for small raises given out to all village staff. Her salary is now about $175,000 per year with a $600 a month car allowance.
When the one-year contract is up, the council will make a determination on a longer-term deal. Vice Mayor John McGovern negotiated the extension.
