Wellington resident, restaurant team up for child cancer research fundraiser

A Wellington man has biked more than 1,100 miles month to raise money for children’s cancer research, and a local restaurant is joining in the effort.

The Grille will be holding a four-course dinner Saturday night, and $5 of each purchase will go directly toward Jack Mancini’s work with the Great Cycle Challenge. He has already raised more than $10,000.

Mancini, a Wellington photographer, has set a goal of 1,500 miles by the end of the month. He ranks #1 in the state and #5 nationally, according to the website.

The four-course meal will cost $39, and the event begins at 7 p.m. Reservations are recommended. They can be made by calling 561-793-2110.
