Wellington asks residents to take budget survery

It’s budget time in Wellington, and village officials are again looking for feedback from the locals.

The village is launching it’s budget challenge survey, which gives residents an opportunity to rank projects and outline what they feel is important.

The proposed budget is about $4 million larger than last year, largely due to 13 new employees and improvements around Wellington. Staff has proposed a small decrease in the millage rate, but increases in property values mean that the average homeowner might pay about $8-$50 more.

The Village Council will begin working through the budget at its first meeting in July.

You can find the budget challenge link on the Wellington website.
