GREENACRES — Laura Schroff, author of the New York Times bestseller “An Inviside Thread,” is scheduled to speak with Okeeheelee Midldle School students on Monday.
The book tells the story of an 11-year-old panhandler, a busy sales executive and and an unlikely meeting with destiny.
All students have been taksed with reading the book.
Schroff will meet with students at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m.
“The book supports Okeeheelee Middle School’s three shared values, (Repsect Everyone, Be Responsible for Yourself, You Are Part of a Community),” Julie Greene, the school’s media specialist, said in a statement. “It really promotes the power of kindness and connection between people.”
This is the first time Okeeheelee Middle has had a school-wide reading program.
