Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge to host Everglades Day event

If you’re thinking about launching your boat Saturday from the Lee Road Headquarters area of the Arthur R.Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, you’re out of luck.

But the refuge has you covered if you’re looking for a family event.

It’ll host the event in honor of Everglades Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with music, presentations, guided walks and activities for children, according to a news release.

Parking for the event will be located at the Solid Waste Authority’s Southwest County Transfer Station,  about 1 and 1/2 miles south of the refuge on the east side of U.S. 441.
