Six county schools combine to raise about $200k in Dance Marathons

Three western community high schools led the way on Dance Marathon fundraising in Palm Beach County.

Wellington High School was thee top school by far, raising $82,444.17 for the Children’s Miracle Network. The school currently has the fifth largest total nationwide. The money will go toward pediatric cancer research, new medical equipment and activities for children enduring long hospital stays.

The Wellington total will go to the Shands Hospital in Gainesville, through the miracle network. They also had a little help from Wellington Landings Middle School students, who chipped in by raising about $3,500.

Coming in second and third for Palm Beach County was Seminole Ridge High School and Palm Beach Central High School who raised $41,043.17 and $38,680.17 respectively.

Overall, six Palm Beach County Schools topped $200,000 with Jupiter High School ($17,330.17), Boca Raton Community High School ($13,626.51) and Suncoast High School ($10,210.17) also participating.
