The awards recognizes citizens of all ages who have made a significant committment to volunteer service. In 2005, Greenacres was approved as an official certifying organization for the awards.
Last year, volunteers mentored and counseled kids; helped children with their homework; assisted with youth program events and worked on community service projects.
At Monday’s meeting, Mayor Joel Flores and the city council will honor 22 volunteers who totalled 6,153 hours, the city said.
Each winner receives an official President’s Volunteer Service Award pin, a personalized Certificate of Achievement and a congratulatory letter from President Donald Trump.
