Drowning prevention event slated for Wellington Aquatics Complex

Wellington is teaming up with Palms West Hospital to host a drowning prevention event at the village’s Aquatics Complex Saturday.

The event, which was started by pediatric residents at Palms West, is called S.P.L.A.S.H., which stands for “Safety and Prevention Leaves All Swimmers Happy.”

The free event will rum from 9 a.m. to noon. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue workers will be there for a near-drowning demonstration and other vendors will be there to hand out information and answer questions.

There will also be basic CPR training and activities for kids.
